Prolog

Here we go again. Off to India to kick-off 2023. This is Karen’s and my 4th trip to India since 2015 (+ 1 more back in the 70’s) There are so many places in the World to visit – why India again?

The short answer – we love everything about this crazy and beautiful country. Every day is an adventure.

The people – especially our dear friend Birgid Uccia.

The streets – where chaos is a perfect word. From the traditional Tuk tuk’s to a Mercedes Maybach to a motorbike holding up to seven (observed on a previous trip).

The food – the span and variety are endless and talk about delicious!

The art – exploring and finding new and already known, art, galleries and most importantly artists, has driven most of our Indian adventures.

The history – Karen is the reader and student of India History. She completed a tome about India’s separation from the UK just before this trip and is halfway through a novel about India. To say that Indian history is rich is a vast understatement.

The hotels – certainly among the very finest in the World. The luxury combined with the fabulous service sets India apart.

WE LOVE INDIA!

And we love to share India with our friends and family. We discovered today’s India with our dear friends Kathryn and Marc LeBaron during our around the World trip in 2015 (worldartadventure.wordpress.com). We are back with LeBaron’s in search of new art, shopping and more adventure.

Just the mention of an India adventure and Paige and family replied that they were in.

We will travel the first two weeks of February with LeBaron’s to Mumbai, Kochi and New Delhi with a focus on art. The second week Paige, Jonathan and young Duncan will discover and explore India for the first time on their own (they really hope to see a Bengal Tiger). Duncan will then fly home with LeBaron’s. The final two weeks we will introduce Paige and Jonathan to the India we know and love.

Four fabulous weeks in a country we love. We are such fortunate soles. Fortunate that we have the time and resources, but more important, that we have the adventuresome and curious spirit to embrace India once again.

Please follow along with this blog. Share it with other free spirits and please give us us feedback.

  2. Fabulous start! I LOVE the picture! I’m curious about which novel Karen is reading now. Shantaram by David Gregory Roberts was one of my favorites. Would LOVE to know which ones she read. You definitely get the most out of your travels. Glad you got the blog going!! Cheers! Pat and Chris
